The Blooming Herbalist

My name is Nikki Nau, and I started The Blooming Herbalist to create a place to honor and share the many gifts from the plant communities. My initial training in organic gardening and farming took me through the worlds of biodynamic agriculture, permaculture design, and regenerative farming. All roads lead to a similar destination, I find, when you open yourself to nature intelligence and navigate the ever expanding ways to communicate through this language.

Herbalism is a place where I continue to learn from the plants and from the community of herbalists who honor, steward, and respect the plants who offer so many gifts.

Community Herbalism

As a community herbalist, I work with the people in my community to help them find plant allies along their journey of life. Sometimes the body asks for help with a physical condition. Sometimes an emotional or mental situation shows the way. Other times a specific plant will beckon curious interest. By looking at the patterns around us, and noticing the subtle language of energetics and nature intelligence, one can find support from the plants.

I also help the plants more fully reveal the gifts they have to offer. Perhaps a tincture, salve or balm will bring a plant closer to a realized expression. Perhaps cooking with herbs will lift the plant and enliven the senses of people enjoying food. Often an herbal tea-time is a place for plants and people to convene and bring forth goodness into the world.
